Our People

Staffing  - all of our staff are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
When choosing a nursery, you need to be assured that you are leaving your child with people who have the right qualifications and experience, and who will be able to make your child feel secure and happy.
At Lilliput Lane Nursery the activities are planned carefully to encourage purposeful play, so that children are able to develop to their full potential, at the same time as having plenty of enjoyment.
All of our staff are selected through a process which takes account of safe recruitment practices. These include:
• Police criminal record checks i.e. enhanced disclosures from Disclosure Scotland
• Two satisfactory references from previous employers
• Health Statement from their GP

Lilliput Lane Nursery is committed to providing our staff with training sufficient to ensure that they will be able to successfully undertake their duties to the highest standard. We recognise the value of training in ensuring that the organisation can meet its main objectives and continue to develop.

Training also has an important part to play in ensuring that the staff members are able to realise their full potential on an equal opportunity basis. Where possible we will seek to encourage staff to undertake training which will enhance their personnel development and potential. The nursery operates a staff development plan where by staff change play room approximately every 18 months. This gives them the opportunity to work with the different age groups; the chance to develop new skills, the opportunity to suggest improvements and ways these may be implemented.

Partnership with Parents
Lilliput Lane Nursery puts each child's individual needs at the heart of our business. We also aim to meet the needs of parents with the same level of empathy and understanding. We always welcome parents' views and value your comments. You're free to pop into the nursery at any time, whether to see your child or to chat to our Nursery Manager - it's a great opportunity to get involved in your child's time at nursery. We'll be happy to welcome the child's grandparents too.
A notice board and daily activity reports are posted in each room and a daily diary is kept for all children from 6 weeks to three years old. Pre-school workbooks and assessment records are kept for older children. Parent meetings will be held twice a year, in the weeks leading up to Christmas and towards the start of the summer term (May).

At Lilliput Lane, we value the partnership between parent and nursery and aim to make you feel totally involved with your child's nursery care.
